Book Week
As ‘World Book Day’ is on Thursday we thought we would have a whole week all about books. In our book week we will be focussing our week on the authors ‘Claire Freedman and Ben Cort’ doing a different character who love underpants everyday! We will be sharing stories, doing crafts and challenges everyday and we hope you’ll get involved!
We will also be having 2 competitions, entries will need to be in by Thursday 4th March…
1.Whole school competition - Find the most unusual place to read a book, please send in your pictures and we will be announcing the winner at the end of the week!
2. Ahlberg competition- Monday’s art lesson focus will be making a book character from a potato! (Lots of ideas have been added).
Phonics, spellings and maths is also being set, just do as much as you can and don’t forget to send in photos of your child’s work. We are now be setting P.E challenges as well as the normal learning so we can all try and stay active together.

Reading
Please read a book with your child everyday. We have signed up for Epic, go to the page below, search for your child's name and enter the code: llh3381 and earn points by reading. Keep an eye out for weekly challenges!
Spellings
This week’s spellings are...were, was, put, push: You can use the worksheet to help practise them.
Handwriting
This week we will be practising the letters .'s, t ,u, v ,w';. Download the worksheets here or follow this link and practise on some paper.

Make a ‘Potato Book Character’. All you need is a potato and some craft materials. Look here for ideas! We will share everyone’s picture on Friday in our zoom call. Have fun!

Literacy Our next topic is called ‘Land Ahoy’. Discuss with your child what they already know about ‘Pirates’ and also what they would like to know? Fill in the ‘Pirate Topic Grid’ please send in your pictures so we can see what they’d like to learn.
