Where Every Child Counts

Autumn Term 2023

The children went on a Christmas scavenger hunt looking for natural objects like our favourite Christmas people, animals and things. We had to find something : curved like a candy cane, round like a Christmas bauble, fluffy like Santas's beard, shiny like a bell, red like Rudolph's nose and green like an elves coat.

We used our senses to find natural objects. We made a natural picture of a hedgehog...

We have been learning how to cross the road safely.

Donaldson class have been very busy. We visited the school kitchen to see how our dinners are prepared. We thought of some questions to ask and the chefs were very willing to answer these. Did you know Chef Riley's favourite food is meat and potato pie?

We made hedgehog hibernation homes in Forest School. We decide where to put these thinking abput where would be most sheltered  and tucked away so that hedgehogs wouldn't be disturbed in the winter. We also enjoyed our hot chocolate.

Donaldson Class enjoyed their first Forest school session

learning the rules and exploring the area we will be working in.

Neon Disco- We all came in our bright neon clothing to boogie away the disco.

The children have really been engaged in our new learning about our topic  'Can I have a dog please?'

They've talked about pets they have at home, enjoyed making poorly animals better in the vets, painted pictures of animals

and made shelters for the toy animals using the large construction. Well done Donaldson Class.

Donaldson Class have been demonstrating good body tension in their PE lessons.

We have been making straight, star and tuck shapes both on and off the apparatus.

We are also learning to find a space of our own making sure we don't pop one another's personal bubbles. Fantastic work everyone!

Donaldson Class have had a fantastic first week!
