Where Every Child Counts

Spring Term 2024

We explored and talked about the changes to ice. We watched the colours run  and mix together as the ice melted. We mixed cornflour and water and tried hard to describe the texture and how it changed. We have printed with coloured paint bubbles to make our Easter baskets.

We have been looking at art work by Jackson Pollock. We then created our own masterpiece using the same techniques. We dropped, squirted, flicked and sprayed different coloured paint onto a large sheet of material. We had a great time! We dressed up in red clothes to support comic relief..

We came into school in our colourful clothes and engaged in a range of colourful activities. We have been investigating how rainbows are made.

Our topic is ' How many colours in a rainbow?'

We went on a colour walk around the local environment to see a range of colours.

We have had fun investigating colour whilst painting pictures.

Carle class have been uses their senses. They went on an observational walk to find out what we could hear, see, touch and smell.

We made fruit faces and described the taste and textures.

We designed and created tour own musical instruments.

The children then explored different sounds they made..

We have been learning all about keeping clean. We wanted to find out why it is important to wash our hands. We carried out an experiment using pepper and soap. We looked at other daily routines including brushing our teeth.

We have been using different materials to construct our houses.

Carle class have had a fantastic start to the new term. Our new topic is  "Why do you love me so much?"  We have talked  about what babies need. Abbie's mum came to visit us with baby Raven and she talked all about  her baby. We had to think of some questions to ask her. We enjoyed them visiting nursery.

We had a go at washing the babies it was great fun.
