Bat and Moth Game
Bats use echo location to capture their prey. The moths are the bats favourite food. In pairs, one child was a bat and the other a moth. They were blindfolded. They had to shout bat or moth depending on which creature they were. The bat had to try to capture the moth and the moth tried to stay away from the bat. The other children made a circle of safety to guide the bat and moth back towards the inner circle.
The Wickey Wickey Woo Wah Stick
The Wickey Wickey's are mischievous imps, who live in the forest and try to play tricks on children who come into the forest. The Wickey Wickey's do not like bright colours and things which rattle, so our Forest School children have made their special magic Wickey Wickey Woo Wah sticks to keep the imps away so that they do not spoil our fun.

We learned to be safe around an open flame.
We toasted marshmallows on the campfire and had smores.
It was great fun.
We had to take shelter from the rain, so we headed into our canopy of trees in the forest and made magic story sticks.
We used wool to weave around the branch of a Y shaped stick and used pasta shells and natural materials to decorate them.
Natural Bookmarks
As it was World Book Day we made our own bookmarks using natural materials, we were careful to only use petals and leaves which had already fallen,
so as not to damage the living plants.
We learned how to tie a clove hitch knot and work in pairs to lash sticks together to make a picture frame.
We found it tricky but persevered.
Miniature Den building
We had a challenge to build a den for out two forest school mascots. We were given tarpaulin and string and could use as many natural materials we could find. Our shelters needed to be wind and waterproof, We did a really brilliant job and they all passed the water test.
