Hello and welcome to our class page,

 

We've all had to adapt to new ways of working, so I wanted to take the opportunity to say what an amazing job you're doing supporting your child's wellbeing and learning during this time. It has definitely been a strange and challenging time, so it's okay if you and your child feel wobbly and worried at the moment. We're here for you every step of the way as we figure this out together.

 

We miss the children very much, but we must follow the government's guidance to keep everyone in our community safe. So, as you know, we are providing remote online learning here on our website. The learning activities will be shared here each day. You don't need to print anything off, but if you prefer to and can, that's fine too. You can click on the links highlighted in blue. Otherwise, simply complete on paper or in a notepad. I will always include the answers too, when needed. Please do not feel that you have to do everything each day, little and often is best. However, please, please, please read a little each day!

 

Remember, if you have any concerns about helping your child learn or you need any other support from the school, please let us know. I will call you you once a week to check in and I can be contacted directly on the Remind app during business hours.

Chinese New Year

Monday 18th January

Spellings - Choose 5 spellings from either the Y3/4 or Y5/6 spellings, depending on whose group you are in, to practice this week. Prepare for your adult to test you on Friday.

 

Rainbow writing - Use different coloured pencils and keep writing over the same word. Write your spelling words in a rainbow shape and use different colours to recreate a rainbow.

Literacy - Magic Squares - You will need to use your mathematical skills in literacy today. Challenge: You could create your own magic square afterwards.

Literacy - Today I would like you to read over your setting description from yesterday. Can you edit and improve your work (like we do in class with our purple pens) using more impressive vocabulary. Don't forget to check your punctuation, that you're using the correct tense and that all capital and lower case letters are in the correct place. If you finish this, draw your setting. We would love to see your final piece on the Remind App.

Now choose one of the three characters and describe the setting from their perspective. Try to make it clear through your choice of vocabulary who the character is that you have chosen.
